Welcome to our 24th Season!

Youth Theatre Overview

Curtain Call, the children's educational arm of AJTC, began in 1989, providing theatre classes, workshops and camps for children from diverse backgrounds.

youth theatre photoCurtain Call’s mission is to provide developmentally-appropriate, educationally-based theatre experiences for young people ages 7-18.  To this end, all curricula and activities have an educational foundation to them.  In addition to teaching basic theatre skills, we emphasize the concepts of teamwork, cooperation and self-esteem—all elements which lead to better citizenship.  We are also instilling a love of theatre which should translate into greater appreciation and participation in the arts later in life.

In 2000, Curtain Call expanded to include two Valley wide children’s productions.  Our community-wide plays, produced twice a year, offer even the most inexperienced aspiring actors an opportunity to learn and grow.  We pride ourselves on opening our doors to a multi-cultural group of children with varying levels of experience.  We provide professional directors and designers to work with the children.  The children to not pay to participate in the plays.  Our December show offers a Chanukah theme, the spring show is generic – ranging from farce to Shakespeare.
